1.0 Fixes v1.0.0.6

by Brik Cookies

Hi Pioneers! This week we pushed a patch that contained a pretty chonky issue, namely that a lot of stuff on the map respawned. This hotfix will address this issue, however, if you’ve saved your game since this last patch (1.0.0.5) then your save file will still have most items respawned. I.e. this hotfix will not revert the damage done from the last patch if you’ve already saved over it (sowee!). We’ve also resolved the issues related to the customizer with this hotfix! If we happened to introduce any new issues or missed anything important, please let us know over at our QA Site https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ We read your posts every day! Sorry for the inconvenience last patch caused and hopefully we should be good for now! Thank you for your patience! BUGFIXES Fixed so that items don’t respawn when loading save files created in 1.0.0.4 Fixed issues where the customizer would incorrectly apply customization KNOWN ISSUES There are languages missing These are the only official...

The next Satisfactory update will be its last for a while, Coffee Stain warns

by editor@pcgamesn.com

Satisfactory 1.0 has been a huge success. The sandbox and factory automation game is hitting new heights on Steam, and there are plenty more updates on the way. As I write this the game is still averaging around 50,000 concurrent players on Valve's platform alone. Hotfixes have been coming in thick and fast since 1.0 dropped, but that's changing for a little while. Community manager Snutt Treptow says developer Coffee Stain Studios is dropping update 1.0.0.5 soon, and then holding off until Ficsmas, where even more changes will come. Satisfactory 1.0 finally has mod support, and the revamped mod manager now supports dedicated servers too

by Wes Fenlon

month to the day since Satisfactory left early access, the community-driven mod manager has been updated to support version 1.0. Satisfactory Mod Manager v3.0 was "rewritten from scratch for better performance and smaller size" and includes some pretty significant new features, including support for installing and managing mods on dedicated servers and a brand new UI... Just as I'd made peace with my conveyor belt spaghetti, this Satisfactory player started building cathedrals

by Lincoln Carpenter

Satisfactory players were sharing impressive factory builds long before the automation base-building game's recent 1.0 release. While you can certainly get by in Satisfactory with a haphazard gnarl of conveyor belts and power lines—as I often have—it offers plenty of optional logistic and aesthetic parts to build pristine, professional industrial facilities. But where others have made expertly-finished manufactories, redditor Calpurnius777 decided to dabble in High Gothic architecture... Read more.

The best-named game of all time nearly could've been called something else because some of its developers hated the pun

by Wes Fenlon

If you're here ready to debate my declaration of "the best-named game of all time," I'm going to suggest you've never played Satisfactory, because it embodies its name perfectly. It's the kind of pun you write on a white board to cause an entire room to spontaneously groan, because everyone wants to roll their eyes but also knows they'll never better it. When the developers at Coffee Stain were first working on Satisfactory, though, they weren't all in agreement that the name was destined. In fact, it was a bit of a fight... Read more.

The Satisfactory team was already cooking up plans for what to add after launch even before the 1.0 release exceeded all expectations

by Wes Fenlon

The face of Satisfactory, community manager Snutt Treptow, wasn't about to tell me the next as-yet-unannounced update coming to the factory building game after its 1.0 launch, but he did indicate that it won't be long before we hear more. With the 1.0 release drawing in a flash flood of players, I asked Treptow if the smash success has the developer reevaluating what it does next with the game... Read more.

Satisfactory's developers had no idea how popular its 1.0 launch was going to be: 'We try not to focus too much on that stuff and just make it as big as we possibly can'

by Wes Fenlon

I felt like I was late to the party when I started playing Satisfactory like mad in 2020, more than a year after the building game first released in early access on the Epic Games Store. Another four years later Satisfactory has finally arrived at its 1.0 release and proven just how off base I was. It peaked at close to 200,000 players the weekend after launch, more than four times its previous record. Apparently developer Coffee Stain was just as surprised as I was... Read more.

Satisfactory players achieve absurd early-game speeds by building more ziplines to zipline on while ziplining

by Lincoln Carpenter

In the hours I've spent stripping planet Massage-2(Ab)b of resources to pour down the poorly optimized maw of my wretched Satisfactory production lines, my movement has only ever been clumsy. Getting around my base is a barely-directed stumble across gnarled conveyor belts. When I venture beyond my tangled sprawl, I'm trudging along with slapdash platform staircases and ill-advised jump pads. But thanks to the Satisfactory subreddit, I've seen a better, faster, more graceful way to navigate the early game on my way towards higher-tier transit tech—one where my feet will never have to touch the ground. Provided my materials last, of course... Read more.

Satisfactory dev "overwhelmed" by sandbox game's huge launch response

by editor@pcgamesn.com

It's been a fantastic week for Satisfactory. The open-world sandbox game and factory automation sim has rocketed up the Steam charts with its 1.0 launch, and still sits in the top ten most-played games on the Valve platform. As it continues to hit peak player counts well over 100,000 every day (and not counting Epic Store players, where it originally released), developer Coffee Stain Studios thanks its community. In a new post, community manager Snutt Treptow details some of the key issues the team is working on, and offers helpful workarounds for the meantime. Read the rest of the story...
