Life is Strange Remastered gets new February 2022 release date

Life is Strange Remastered, Square Enix's spruce up of Life is Strange 1 and its prequel Before the Storm, has been given a new release date of 1st February 2022 following its recent delay. Life is Strange Remastered was originally due to arrive at the end of this month, two weeks after new series entry Life is Strange: True Colors, but Square made the decision to postpone its release back in August, citing "the ongoing challenges of the worldwide pandemic". At the time, it offered a revised launch window of "early 2022", but Square has now properly shoved a pin in its calendar, announcing a new release date of 1st February next year on all previously confirmed platforms - Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Stadia. Square Enix has released a crowd vote plug-in for Life is Strange: True Colors, which streamers can install now. The Twitch extension can be customised so that viewers' choices for big decisions are automatically implemented, or simply to poll the audience without them actually making the final call. Life is Strange: True Colors launches next Friday, 10th September, but Twitch streamers can install the add-on already to prepare for some of the game's tougher narrative choices. Read more

UPDATE 12/8/21: Today brings word of another Life is Strange delay - this time, to the release of True Colors for Nintendo Switch. This version of Deck Nine's upcoming all-new entry in the series is "running a little late", the franchise's Twitter confirmed today, and will now follow at some point later in 2021. Tonight brought us a first look at Life is Strange: True Colors' new special power of empathy, in fresh gameplay shown during the Square Enix Presents E3 showcase. True Colors protagonist Alex Chen has had this power for some time - unlike in previous Life is Strange games - but is only learning to control it now as she uses it to uncover the true story of her brother's mysterious death. You'll hear people's inner thoughts, and use this to learn secrets - though what you do with this information is up to you. Powerful emotions will let Alex experience someone's emotional state, and see a changed version of her surroundings, but also put Alex in a place where she's experiencing that emotion too. Read more

Life is Strange: True Colors will be available on 10th September, while a release date for the Remastered Collection on Switch has not yet been confirmed - but we do know it will arrive "later this year". E3 2021 schedule guide: All E3 conference dates, times, and streams announced so far

Following a fragmented and often confusing to follow show last year, E3 2021 is mostly business as usual when it comes to its run of conferences. Though there is no physical show, with organiser Entertainment Software Association (the ESA) opting for a free online-only event due to the ongoing pandemic, there is a return to a more familiar structure - a three day event, running June 12th to June 15th, with most major publishers taking part in a series of livestreams in the days up to the show. This means, instead of multiple standalone announcements throughout the summer, we can expect the usual week-long rush of announcements. That said, some publishers (such as EA) are opting to host their own events later in the year, while others (such as Sony) are seemingly not doing much at all. Read more

Square Enix Presents has wrapped up with the reveal of the next Life is Strange game, a look ahead at the future of Marvel's Avengers, and a few bits and pieces for Tomb Raider's 25th anniversary year. On that, the show kicked off with a look at plans for Lara Croft's 25th birthday through the re-releases of old games and Lara Croft popping up in other titles, such as Fortnite. On that note, Croft Manor will be playable in a Creative level within the game next week. There will also be a Tomb Raider cookbook. We will try our best to review this. Read more
